NFSv3 performances are better than NFSv4 when running NFSv3 over UDP.
NFSv4 and NFSv3 have same performances when running NFSv3 over TCP.
Conclusions are only valid for local networks as described below. there are not valid for others networks, in particular over Internet
If you are looking for a speed full NFS volume beware that running NFS over UDP may be unsafe.
